What is Hematite Jewelry?

Hematite is a mineral of which consits of iron, it is used like many other minerals and elements to create great designer jewelry.Hemaite comes from the word hema which is greek and means blood. Why? well when it was first discovered it displayed a very reddish tone.Athough this mineral has a very polished look and can display colors of gray, black and sometimes can have a reddish brown appeal. When Hematite is polished it gives off a very metal look. Hematite is also used for industrial purpose of which the hematite which displays more red tone is ued for industrial purposed and the more metallic materials are used for designing jewelry. Another type of hematite is magnetic hematite of which is used in some jewelry and is actually used for therapeutic purposes. Now there are some that question this type of therapy and it is not supported by all, but some do believe that its is very beneficial. Although not all people should subject themselves to magnetic therapy, it is not safe for children under seven, pregnant women, people with pacemakers, and those undergoing electronic test.
