A strand of pearls is perhaps the most elegant and feminine piece of jewelry a woman will ever wear. It lends itself to tradition as well as a sense of fashion and self expression.
When designing a strand of pearls for yourself or for someone you love, take into consideration the many options of style available. Strand length is a good place to start. Choose from: Collar (12-13"), Choker (14-16"), Princess (18"), Matinee (20-24"), Opera (28-34") or Rope (over 36").
Once you know the length, choose whether the pearls themselves should be uniform in size or graduated; should the piece be a single strand or multiple strands; what type catch would you like (keeping in mind if the piece is long enough, you may opt to have no catch at all.)
Having decided the overall shape of your pearls, you have one last thing to consider. Should your strand be simple and elegant, displaying the overwhelming beauty of the pearls themselves, or would you to use your own sense of creativity and accent the piece with sterling or gold elements (beads, rondels, etc...) or colored stone beads (ruby, sapphire, emerald, onyx, agate, etc...)?
Your options are numerous, but don't let the prospect of creating the perfect piece of jewelry overwhelm you. We have a custom designer on premises who has been trained and certified by the Gemological Insitiute of America. Whether you're interested in buying a new strand of pearls or you would like to enhance or repair a strand you already own, just let us know how we can help.
