- "Alaska black diamond" is actually hematite.
- "Alaska diamond", "Alencon diamond", "Arkansas diamond", "Bohemian diamond", "Bristol diamond", "Cornish diamond", "Irish diamond", "Isle of Wight diamonds", "Marmora diamond", "Mexican diamond" and "Vallum diamond" stand for rock crystal (quartz) and NOT real diamond.
- "Ceylon diamond" and "mature diamond" is really colorless zircon.
- "Jourado diamond" is just a colorless stone.
- "Killiecrankie diamond" and "Saxony diamond" is another name for colorless topaz.
- "Nevada diamond" and "Nevada black diamond" are nicknames for obsidian.
- "Radium diamond" is actually smoky quartz.

Misleading Terms Used For Diamonds
Sometimes non trusty dealers or some online retailers use following misleading terms against the original diamond. As "diamond" is one of the word in these terms a person can easily be confused and faked by the use of these terms. To educate you, I am explaining them here:
