A bit of Silver History

History

Jewelry has been used longer that you think it has been a part of our society since 3500 BC, when the people of Egypt created ornaments out of silver. Of which many may not know that the word “Sterling” means “Easterling”, which is a form of money also used in 12th century England. As we go through different trend is long lasting piece of metal never goes out of fashion.
Sterling silver is used mostly within the United States, and the lower percentages of silver can be found over in Europe where it might only contain 80% silver, which is not pure silver, and has been known to cause skin irritation for some who are allergic to certain metals. In there metals the silver will not tarnish, but the copper in the alloyed or combine metal will.

We all know that sterling silver is a very strong metal and that is because if is 92.5% pure silver and is 7.5% copper. Of which the copper is what gives the titanium strength and durability. Studying other metals you will also see that they are made of copper, which helps give them strength but silver is one metal that keeps its color once combined with another metal.
