Turquoise Jewelry

Turquoise is considered as a blessed stone that have been cherished and praised by mainly the native Mexican Indians & Americans. Many jewelers have published numerous books on crafts and culture implied through the turquoise stones and jewelry.

For centuries mans fascinations have has been consistent on turquoise stones. The stone of turquoise is a natural stone which has various shades between the ranges of blue to yellow. It is very significant not only for its ornamental but healing property also. The stone is found in country like Iran, China, Persia, Egypt, and Turkey. The color of stone is generally determined by different minerals present nearby the stones. The more presence of iron gives it a greenish tinge while copper adds blue color to the stone. And when zinc is presents the turquoise stone is found to be more yellow color. There are many kinds of turquoise colored stoned present which are chiefly employed in making unique ornaments.

Another Stone named White Buffalo Turquoise is also a marvelous kind of stone which is also used in jewelry are mined in the caves of Nevada. These are also very expensive and they add charismatic effect to the jewelry produced by the latest designers. People with subtle taste can only adore these jewels.

Persian turquoise also used chiefly in jewelry ever since primeval era mainly found in the Iran mines with gorgeous stone. It ranges in variety of color from pale green to sky blue. Many antique paintings are a proof that these were especially employed in all emperor jewelry to give them significant effect required.

Maintenance of the turquoise jewelry

It is a popular belief that due to this reason only the stone has preserved it value till date. Whenever cleaning the stone you should take care to gently wipe the stone very gently with a soft cloth. A turquoise jewelry should never be submerged in any liquid to cleanse it because it is very porous and this liquid will cause deterioration in the value of the stone and the designed jewelry. The only gentle method of cleansing turquoise jewelry is to carefully clean the jewelry by making a rounded tip of any clean cloth and dip it in cleansing soap solution. Turquoise jewelry is never cleaned from any chemical or ultrasonic cleaners. So always respect your priced possessions. Whether turquoise jewelry is a traditional and antique heirloom or a recent formation modeled on conventional styles, turquoise jewelry is always considered a priced possession and a treasure for life time.

Platinum Sapphire and Diamond Deco Style Pendant

I custom design and create many beautiful sapphire engagement rings each year, and when a client is ready to celebrate another special occasion or milestone, I really enjoy the opportunity to create another jewel to mark the event. This striking sapphire pendant is a piece I made for a client that wanted to celebrate just such an occasion.

The necklace is crafted in 95% pure platinum in an Art Deco style with a vibrant blue emerald cut sapphire and stark white Asscher cut diamond. The combination of these striking geometric shapes and the brightly polished platinum create a classic look that was inspired by Art Deco designs of the 1920's and 1930's.

My first task was to find the perfect sapphire for this piece. I worked with many of the finest sapphire cutters in the industry to ensure a good selection of exception gems for my client. The sapphire we chose has an intoxicating blue hue that captures your attention even from across the room. Next, I located a gorgeous D color Asscher cut diamond that was the perfect mate for the sapphire. My client only wanted the best and I think these gemstones and pendant met his goal quite nicely.

We agreed that a domed omega choker would be the best way to wear the pendant. The omega offered a geometric design that nicely complemented the linear look of the pendant while providing excellent support and security for this special piece. The domed omega choker maintains a nicely rounded shape around the neckline that does not pull down into a "V" when worn with a pendant. Instead, the jeweled pendant slides nicely along a smooth, rounded outline that surrounds the neck.

I must admit that I have always admired jewels from the Art Deco Period (1920-1940) and have drawn inspiration for my own designs from this fabulous era in jewelry history. Bold geometric shapes, cool white metals like platinum, bold contrasting colors of blue and white are certainly popular elements of Art Deco jewelry which have certainly been captured in this handsome necklace.

In case you are wondering what their beautiful ring looks like...... take a peek at Blue Flame II Ring which I made when they were expecting "twins".

If you are interested in seeing more examples of jewelry I have custom designed for clients, please check out my portfolio. And if you would like to discuss a custom project, please send me an email.

Bridal Jewelry - Choosing a Style

Follow these Rules

Bridal jewelry is rapidly becoming one of the most important parts of the bridal ensemble. At the same time, though, brides are also looking to get more out of their wedding jewelry. Even though your gown and veil might go into a box the day after your wedding, your jewelry doesn't have to. Wedding jewelry isn't just a keepsake, it's something that should be enjoyed time and time again. That's why it's especially important to take the time to select the right pieces.

Set the Stage

Think of your gown as a stage, and all of the bridal accessories you select are the actors and scenery that create a smash hit. You chose your gown because it called out your name and represents who you are. Regardless of whether its style is vintage, traditional, modern or eclectic, it serves as the backdrop for the wedding jewelry and bridal accessories you buy.

Follow your gown's motif. If, for example, your dress is adorned with radiant crystals, select bridal jewelry with matching accents. The same goes for gowns with beading or pearls.

The Neckline

There are many different styles of bridal jewelry out there, and it might be hard to decide what kind of gems to don on your special day. No matter how beautiful a bridal necklace is, if it's not suited to your gown's neckline it may never look quite right.

Gown Necklines/Suggested Necklace Styles

Strapless, Sweetheart, Off the Shoulder and Scoop: 1) Chokers 2) Rounded necklace that fits close to the throat 3) A pendant or necklace that drops to a "Y" shape
Jewel, Bateau and Square: 1) Chokers 2) Rounded necklace that fits close to the throat
Halter and V- Neck: 1) A pendant or necklace that drops to a "Y" shape 2) Lariat that is tied in front

Queen Anne and Asymmetric: 1) Earrings, bracelet and a pretty headpiece

Low Back: 1) Necklace with a back dangle or a lariat tied in the back.

For gowns with heavily beaded necklines or straps, some brides will forgo the bridal necklace completely and focus solely on the perfect pair of bridal earrings and bridal bracelet.

Theme of your Wedding

Another important factor in selecting your wedding jewelry: Will your wedding be casual or formal? Although casual weddings don't necessarily mean casual jewelry, simple tends to be the way to go. For formal weddings, often something larger and more elegant is called for - a gorgeous fan-style pearl/crystal necklace enhances your traditional bridal ensemble and makes you feel a little more glamorous in the process.

Having a color theme gives you the freedom to design a unique and individual look for your wedding while at the same time enhancing the overall glamour of the occasion. By applying color to the right places - be it your bridal jewelry, the bouquet, the table settings, or something else - you can add to the beauty and style of your special day. For example, if your wedding's color is burgundy, bring it out in the bridal ensemble by adding a touch of the rich, wine- red tone of garnet to your bridal necklace or bridal earrings. If springtime colors are more your style, the delicate lime green tone of peridot in your jewelry will perfectly accent a pastel bridal bouquet.

Your Hair

Before deciding on bridal earrings, talk to your hairstylist about how you'll wear your hair. Bring your dress or a photo to the salon several months before the wedding so the two of you can come up with a plan. This will give you time to grow out your layers and bangs, if necessary.

Once your hair plan is in place, it's time to shop. If you're wearing a traditional updo--a chignon, French twist, Juliet knot or similar style--drop earrings add drama. For short hair, chic pearl or cubic zirconia studs or a small dangle are extremely popular. And if your long, loose-flowing tresses will be accompanied by drop-dead gorgeous chandelier earrings, don't overpower them with a necklace. Less is definitely more!

Your Head Piece

Make sure your bridal headpiece matches your jewelry. A tiara composed of solid rhinestones will overpower delicate pearl jewels. And if you've chosen modern bridal jewelry dripping with cubic zirconia, a pearl headband will be too coy and traditional.

Custom Bridal Jewelry

If you are having trouble finding the right piece, you might consider having your wedding jewelry custom made. Many designers and companies will do this, and even though you may pay a bit more, it's a great feeling knowing that you didn't have to compromise your ideas to match something that just wasn't quite right. Your bridal pieces can be designed just for you, and are one of a kind. Keep in mind that the designer you choose to work with will want to know any ideas you have in as much detail as possible, and will most likely also want to see your dress (or a picture of it) as well. Be prepared!

Most Importantly!

Most importantly, remember that you wear your bridal jewelry and bridal headpiece -- they don't wear you. Choose pieces that are perfectly suited to your gown and personality. If you've never been a fan of pearls, your wedding day isn't the time to flaunt
them. You're creating a pleasing package, so make sure everything works together. Your wedding jewelry should represent part of what makes you unique!

Reverie Jewelry by Alison Woodward

If the arts and crafts movement is indeed in revivalist mode as many predict, putting vintage Koos van den Akker jackets, mixed print and quilted, front and center along with Mary McFadden braided belts, then surely chunky jewelry is going to stick around for a while. Good news for Alison Woodward, who skillfully crafts large-scale pieces that are highly ornate and rich in tone.

Woodward’s forte is re-thinking the contextual nature of vintage elements, changing their lifeline through reconfiguration. Shells, color-drenched with paint, are arranged in a flower formation and dressed up with vintage ribbon…a brass mechanic’s shop plaque is given new life with 1950s rhinestone adornments. Some of the pieces are more straightforward, but all will have you daydreaming, just as the designer predicts with the jewelry line’s chosen name – Reverie.

Some dare to think out of the tradition and ask the right questions - why so many Americans become obsessed with lavish weddings, if engagement rings are so special why should only a woman get one and why get obsessed with eternity rings, anniversary rings and all that the diamond company wants us to buy.

Some reasoning here - until the 1930's, a woman forsaken by her fiancé could sue for financial compensation for "damage" to her reputation under the "Breach of Promise to Marry" act. As courts and the law system matured and began to abolish such acts, diamond rings came in rescue for the poor woman who still looked for some financial commitment from the groom. So with social advancements women started loosing their virginity while engaged (which was earlier considered a sin, a woman could not loose her virginity before marriage), so some structure of commitment was necessary to assure betrothed women that men weren't just trying to get them into bed.

Blimey - its been ages!

Hello all,
I have been completely neglecting my blog (for months in fact) but the reality is that its been last on my list - my list has been work, work, work! Which is of course all good.

2009 promises to be an exciting year, with my own wedding to look forward to and enjoy!
December/January has been hectic with lots of quite last minute requests for stationery and some of these have been large orders with plenty of work involved. I have visited quite a few new clients already this year and have attended a wedding fair at the Diplomat Hotel last Sunday.

On March 1st I will be attending a large fair at the Parc y Scarlets Stadium, Llanelli. It will be an exciting event (run by RSVP wedding co-ordinators) with plenty to see including catwalk shows. If you can make it, come and find me to see our latest designs and special offers.

My work is to be exhibited at the Giles Gallery in Pontyclun, so if you happen to be around, do drop in. Beth Giles's gallery is lovely and has plenty of lovely items to see and buy.

Apologies for the big gap in my blogging, promise to be back soon!!

Trillion Blue Sapphire Diamond Earrings

Trillion Blue Sapphire and Pave Diamond Border Earrings in 14k White
Gold

Pretty and practical. The beautiful combination and fine contrast of sapphire and diamond make these earrings very classy. The pretty pair of earrings is a great way to add graceful elegance without overwhelming your daily wear.

Avoid these steps in purchasing of engagement rings

There are certain steps which the buyers tend to take unknowingly in the absence of an advice when they go for shopping of engagement rings for their brides. You should refrain from making the mistakes others have made.

First, avoid shopping without preparing a budget. In other words, do not enter a jeweler’s shop if you do not clearly know about the price range you would be asking the jeweler to show the rings within it. Otherwise, the jewelers will display plenty of varieties only to confuse you.
engagement rings
Secondly, purchasing a loose diamond avoid picking up randomly by just touching your finger on a color. Instead, discuss its quality elaborately with the jeweler keeping the prices in mind.

The third most avoidable steps is to buy the engagement rings right away without bargaining. The jeweler expects you to pay lower amount than what is mentioned on the tag. Better compare the prices on internet and purchase the quality rings at competitive prices.

I was tagged by Katja on Flickr to tell 16 facts about myself. Apparently, I was also supposed to tag another unknown number of persons, but the tagging spread like wild, and before I knew it, everyone in my list was already tagged by someone else.

Anyway, here goes:

1) I'm a freelance translator. The picture is my security card from when I worked (briefly) as a translator with IBM in Kista, Sweden, about 7 years ago.

2) I speak Swedish, English and German fluently.

3) I'm a vegetarian, most of the time. I sometimes cheat and eat fish, but it's not something I'm proud of.

4) I love books. I love reading books. I love owning books. I love buying books. I love borrowing books from the library. Only, I prefer them in the original, if possible. And no, I don't translate books.

5) I'd really like to learn more languages. I took an evening class in Dutch about 8 years ago, but they don't have those where I live now, and my day doesn't have that many hours.

6) I love cooking and baking, but find I'm not very good at doing it together with the children. I'm not a very neat person, but I want things done my way when I'm in the kitchen.

7) I would like to learn more about Indian and Thai cooking. I love the spicyness!

8) I'd like to travel more, but I'm limited by economy and environmental bad conscience. I hope that our family will someday be able to take several months off and travel the world.

9) I like sunny, warm weather, but like to enjoy it while sitting in the shade.

10) I haven't had short hair since childhood.

11) I'm a very lazy, comfort loving person.

12) I used to work for WeightWatchers (for over 2 years)

13) I was politically active in my mid-teens. Strangely enough, it ended around the time when I became old enough to vote - not that I think that's the reason.

14) I don't like calling people up on the phone, I prefer e-mail and text messages. I don't mind people calling me up, though.

15) I wish we would move to Berlin (where my hb's from). He's more hesitant than I am, but we are planning a temporary move there end of the year. I'm already looking for flats on the Internet.

16) I don't remember when I last wrote down so many things about myself.

(Originally, as you can see here, I added two 5) by mistake, but I removed one here. That does not mean I don't love my children, just so you know!)

Wedding Ring - History

The wedding ring is said to be one of the most famous and instantly recognizable symbol of the joining of a man and a woman as husband and wife in holy matrimony has a long and wide spread history. The oldest recorded exchange of wedding rings comes from ancient Egypt over 4800 years ago. Then, the ring was linked with the supernatural, a never-ending band linked with eternal love. For the Romans later, the ring's acceptance by a young lady was a binding, legal agreement and the girl was no longer free. Today we accept the ring as part of a religious ceremony when we marry in church.
As time passes the traditions have changed. Today, not only the brides wear rings as a symbol of their lasting affection, but the majority of men also choose to wear this badge of fidelity and commitment. The ring's band does not have to be gold. In early Roman times they used iron, for its symbolic strength. But that has been replaced in the third century with silver and gold because of its beauty while iron rusts. There are attractive alternatives for yellow gold, such as Silver or Electrum. You can also think about the hardness of the metal and the color of your wedding band.

Most husband and wives today wear their wedding bands on the left hand, the third finger in. However, some European women wear the ring on their right hand. Some Scandinavian women wear three rings, one each for their engagement, their marriage and then their motherhood. Jewish brides have the ring placed on their index finger, since that is the finger with which they point to the Torah as they read.

Do you know any additional facts and secrets about the history of wedding rings? What does your culture say about how wedding rings should be worn? Would love to hear more history laid out.

The SAG Awards for Fashion

Best Dressed

Evan Rachel Wood: Her deep-blue Monique Lhuillier gown flowed off her body in just the right way. And by putting a pin on the dress' one-shoulder strap, she kept the look interesting. Plus, that color is lovely on her milky complexion.

Penélope Cruz: Cruz always seems to do something extra dramatic on the red carpet, and in her black halter gown by Azzedine Alaia, she vamped up the show.

Freida Pinto: Rocking a flowing, lavender gown by Marchesa (who happens to be Jennifer Lopez's go-to designer), the "Slumdog Millionaire" star looked glamorous and comfortable.

Emily Blunt: Though Vegas numbers don't always translate well at awards shows, Blunt dazzled in a silver, barely there gown.

Anne Hathaway: Hathaway was a classic beauty in a white Grecian gown designed by Azzaro. It didn't hurt that she was decked out in Cartier diamonds.

Worst Dressed

Angelina Jolie: The nominee's Max Azria gown was just so dull. And sure, Jolie is stunning all on her own, but she could have been a bit less mother-of-the-bride.

Eva Longoria: The tangerine Jenny Packham gown overpowered the petite star.

Amy Adams: She may have been our belle of the ball at the Golden Globes, but in a dark-purple Giambattista Valli gown, Adams failed to stun us thanks to the strange, bunchy fabric detail at her waist.

Marisa Tomei: Much like Adams, Tomei suffered from the dreaded too-much-fabric-detail disease. The detailing on the back of her gown was overwhelming for the actress.

Katie Holmes: The length and fit seemed a bit informal for an awards show, and the cutout detailing on Holmes' Jil Sander dress revealed a lot of the actress. Maybe too much.

Blue Bayer

Long time East Village resident Blue Bayer spent many, many years crafting smoking pipes and selling them to locals until he meet a young kid entranced with Steam Punk and everything kind of fell in to place. As if destiny itself was calling, the encounter lead Bayer to become re-inspired with his youthful obsessions like turn-of-the-century science fiction, and he started translating the gruesome design aesthetic he used in his pipe-crafting into wearable jewelry assembled from found objects.

Bayer’s line, called Assemblagio, flaunts pieces that marry clock parts with hand-blown glass eyes, and dangle hummingbird skulls cast in 18k gold. Many designs have been enhanced with modeling clays and aging solvents to impart an antique appearance. But here’s the best part – Blue writes like Bukowski, on full display in his Etsy store listings. From Pat (a battle scarred old guy from Queens) to Stone Gnome (a lady who sells him gemstones and adopts a lot cats) Bayer has stories, lots of them, and he tells them in such a real-deal manner that you can become distracted and forget how frickin’ amazing his jewelry is…almost, but not quite.

To browse styles visit the designer’s Web site. It’s connected to his Etsy store.

Leather Garments

No fashion conscious person thinks of having a wardrobe without presence of leather goods and garments. Leather garments are big business in India and world in general. India is one of the major countries to manufacture and export leather garments. In fact, Indian leather industry is slowly making its presence felt in hugely competitive world leather market. It was not long, almost 10-15 years when fashion in leather garments was not much of a rage amongst people. Indian people were not fond of leather garments in a big way.

But things have changed drastically in a period of 10 years. Leather goods and garments have proved to be a big business world over and India is no exception to this trend. The major players in world leather market are; Hong Kong, Taiwan, Turkey, South Korea, Eastern European countries and countries from South America. India has a very low share in world leather market and Indians are trying to capitalize on huge human resources and availability of good and cheap leather to increase their world share.
Mostly, Indians prefer to export leather rather than put it into use in local markets. Mumbai, Chennai and Kanpur are the major manufacturing centers in India for leather garments. The Indian market is primarily based in north India because of climate and fashion conscious people. India has maintained international standards in leather garments manufacturing and most of the foreign tourists prefer to purchase from India because of low cost and better quality.

Bridal Earrings for the Wedding Day

by Ted Hust

You dream of your big day your entire life and adding final touches to your wedding look is one of those fun decisions you get to make as a bride. There are many accessory options out there from big bold necklaces, chunky, illusion and multiple strand bracelets, but when it comes to earrings - you can't go wrong. Take a few of these ideas to help you decide on your wedding day earring selection.

First consider the color gown you are wearing. With more fashion options to brides, dresses aren't just white any more. Whether you have a white, ivory, pink, or non traditional color bridal gown, choose materials that have the same color tones. If your dress is white, ivory pearls will not match perfectly with your gown, stay true to your colors.

Next consider your gowns embellishments. If your bridal gown has pearls, crystals or rhinestones on it, then pairing it with jewelry that uses those materials is the best way to coordinate your jewelry with your gown. There are many bridal jewelry designers out there that use quality pearls and crystals that will last a lifetime and become a true heirloom.

Once you have determined a color palate and the right materials, finding the right pair of earrings to finish your look is easy. There are a wide variety of styles available to brides. Chandelier earrings, cluster earrings, drop style, stud and chain are all some of the varieties of bridal earrings available on the market. If you love to wear big and bold jewelry, than a chandelier or cluster style earrings would be perfect. These earrings add a dramatic flair to the ears and draw attention to the face. For the bride that loves a simple, classic look there are simpler designs available including drop style, post and tiny earrings that have a small dangle.

There is a non-traditional method of mixing new with old. Most brides do the something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue. A great way to incorporate the old with the new and possibly the borrowed, is to take a piece of heirloom jewelry you love from a family member or close friend and incorporate that jewelry into a new piece. Whether you take an older broach from grandmas jewelry drawer and have a jewelry designer take it and make it into a hair piece with some additional gems to spice it up or you transform a pendant from a necklace into a unique new necklace. There are special ways to incorporate your heirloom jewelry into your bridal look.

Lastly, whether you choose a fancy chandelier style earring or a drop style earring, do not pack your jewelry away. While your bridal gown, tiara and veil may have to be packed away after the big day, your jewelry doesn't have to be. Keep your bridal jewelry out and in your jewelry box for safe keeping. When your anniversary or another special occasion come up, that's the perfect time to select that special wedding day jewelry and remind you of your special day.

Yasmin Kuhn Design

Perhaps it's winter doldrums nipping at our psyche that has us turning our thoughts, ever so early, to the coming of spring (the dance of bright colors, the wispy feminine fabrics, the sprightly footwear). So, yes, perking up is in order, and Yasmin Kuhn's cheery jewelry pieces are a flawless tonic for battling the blues.

Emulating flower lei silhouettes, Kuhn, a RISD graduate, bundles clear and frosted acrylic beads in chunky arrangements, some monochromatic, others with scattered colors. Most selections are available as a single 20" or in a longer 36" length that can artfully be wrapped around the neck several times.

Blue Sapphire :Gemstone of the Heavens

It is rightly called the 'gemstone of the heavens', such is the mystical hue of sapphires. This breathtakingly beautiful gemstone occurs in almost all colors, from pink, yellow and white, to purple and orange. However, it is the heady blue hue of sapphires that are by far, the most sought after. This mystical blue that ranges from a seductive midnight blue to an enigmatic ocean blue with a fine velvety sheen, is the most popular sapphire worldwide.

How to Care For Your Sterling Silver Jewelry

Nothing can quite beat the sheer elegance of sterling silver. The brilliance of silver jewelry appeals to almost every person of any age, even regardless of gender. However, it also possesses that sublime sophistication that gold jewelry always seems to overdo.

If you seem to disagree with this simple statement, think of a person – any person, for that matter – wearing a load of just sterling silver jewelry. Let’s deck that person in a few sterling silver earrings. Then let’s try placing silver ropes around that person’s neck. We can add a couple of silver rings to go along. And for good measure, we will even throw in one or two silver toe rings. And what do you have? You see nothing more but everyday wear. Now, picture that same person wearing the same exact jewelry, only this time, turn every piece that we imagined into gold. Now what do you have? You see a person imitating a fully lit Christmas tree.

We are exaggerating, of course. Nonetheless, this fully illustrates the sublime sophistication which is found probably only in sterling silver jewelry. In fact, if you want, you can mix and match sterling silver jewelry with any other gem or mineral and it will still look pretty chic. Only few kinds of jewelry can achieve this kind of versatility while keeping a sort of utter sophistication and elegance. Cubic zirconia jewelry or CZ jewelry, particularly CZ rings and CZ earrings are often paired with silver. And you guessed it; this combination always manages to look wonderful.

However, in order to maintain that brilliance, you should primarily know how to give your sterling silver jewelry the proper attention it needs. After all, how will you be able to enjoy your sterling silver jewelry if it is not in its ultimately best condition? The first thing that you should keep in mind is that you need to treat your silver exactly as it is worth. You certainly would not wear your best dress to do menial chores around the house or do harsh corrosive applications, now would you? You would want to treat your sterling silver jewelry basically the same way. It would be best if you could shield your jewelry from scratching or from harmful substances (like acids, bleaches, paint, etc.). The best option is probably to take your sterling silver jewelry off while in contact with these harmful substances.
Another thing that you should keep in mind is that an occasional cleaning with silver-safe jewelry cleaners could do you some good as well. Over time, a build up or residue from months (even years) of use can cause silver to tarnish and look aged (somewhat gray and yellow in discoloration.). With that said, you might want to schedule a habitual cleaning to keep your jewelry as clean as possible all the time. However, you should be careful when cleaning your sterling silver. This is especially if it is matched with other gemstones or minerals. Sterling silver jewelry indeed has an unparalleled sophistication and elegance. However, you should always maintain your jewelry to always keep it at its best.

Wedding Jewelry at times of Recession

The buzzword of 2009 is RECESSION! Cutting costs, minimizing needs, doing away with elaborate- is the focus. The Topic I picked up today for my reader is keeping the ongoing recession in mind.

Jewelry is an integral part of any wedding and is an element we cannot completely do away with, while planning a wedding. With ‘The Recession’ tugging at our sleeve we need to look for alternates and options that not only makes for the perfect accessories but also is light on our wallets!

I am writing today about one such great alternate- Vermeil jewellery.

Vermeil: Pronounced "vair-may", is sterling silver, which has been plated or rolled with gold. A thin layer of gold, usually 18kt or 22kt, is overlaid onto the silver surface. The Rajasthani vermeil jewelry has .003 inch or more of 18Kt /22Kt gold overlaid in different textures and finishes and is extremely popular form of jewelry in these times when saving our resources are primary.

The vermeil jewelry prince range starts at $40 i.e. INR 2000 and goes up to $200 i.e. INR 10000 approx. Vermeil is available in a variety of designs and a lot of precious and semi precious stones/ gems are used to ornate and enhance the pieces. Stones like ruby, emerald, pearl, coral, onyx, carnelian, fluoride, tanzanite and sapphires are used in almost all vermeil pieces. Vermeil jewellery has been used by brides to create a complete set of accessories to match trousseau for the D-day! Too many options can be done in vermeil. One can create sets containing- Earrings, bracelets, necklace, hair pins, brooches, hand bag buttons, shoe / slipper enhancements, anklets, armlets, tiaras, rings etc.
