Goodbye to India...We'll Be Home Soon

"All my bags are packed, ready to go..."  How weird, to be quoting John Denver from an internet cafe in India.  But earlier in the day, I was singing songs from the musical South Pacific with two 60-something Indian men attending the Secrets of InterPlay workshop.  So many delicious strange experiences to be had in this world.

Katherine is out wandering the street outside the convent, where we've been staying.  I will go out soon, too, to say goodbye to this place.  Such a big trip, with so much learning it is unbelievable:  Jesuits, nuns, convents, temples, weddings, slums, leprosy hospitals, HIV/AIDS issues, poverty, present shopping, crowded trains, loving people, holding so many hands, trains/buses/airplanes, spicy food, laughing, dancing, hearing stories, telling stories...and more!

Today, Katherine and I attended the morning of the Secrets of Interplay workshop.  Cynthia invited us to do a side-by-side story in front of the group about our trip.  Students, if you're interested in more of this INterPLay thing, you should ask me to do a "Big Body Story" for you about my trip...then maybe you'll be able to imagine what Katherine and I did together.  A little dancing, a little story telling, a little pantomime--all mixed together spontaneously.  It's funny that we didn't tell any stories about our big adventures while here--only small things.  LIke how hard the beds are.  And how people push when getting on and off trains.  Katherine's sick stomach.  buying flowers for our hair.  The woman selling oranges on the train.  What it's been like being with another person for 25 days nonstop!

Anyway, we were both grateful to have a chance to process our trip while being witnessed by others, to say thank you to India for this experience--and in our own way, to say thank you to each other.

Tonight we get on the plane, and we'll be home midday on Sunday.

Love to all...
